Broiler Price Eases to 23.57 Cents
At Lancaster Exchange Thursday
LANCASTER The broiler
price eased a little to an average
of 23.57 cents at the Lancaster
Poultry Exchange Thursday.
Thirty one lots, 105,750 broil
ers, sold from 23% to 24% cents.
Last year at the corresponding
sale 177,700 broilers averaged
20.88 cents
At the Thursday sale a lot of
1,000 Silver Cross cockerals sold
tor 21% cents, a lot of 800 Leg
horns sold at 13% cents, 975
heavy fowl sold for IOVi cents, a
lot of 250 pullet capettes brought
29% cents and a lot of 1,400 cap
ettes sold for 25% cents.

Lancaster Markets: Slaughter Steers
Steady to $.25 Higher; Trading Slow
Lancaster Cattle 3,932, three
days last week 3,696. Compared
with last Wednesday slaughter
steers steady to 25# higher, in
stance 50 cents up. Most of the
advance confined to 'high choice
and prime fed steers. Heifers
fully steady.' Cows steady to 25,
instance 50 cents higher than
last Wednesday. Bulls weak
to 50 lower.
Extremly dry weather locally
continues to slow trading on
stockers and feeders, prices
mostly steady. Supplies com
