choice and low prime slow, steady
to 25 cents lower, instances 50
cents off. Heifers scarce steady.
Cows steady to 25 cents higher,
bulls fully steady. Stockers and
feeders, fully steady. Week’s re
ceipts comprised about 40 per
cent stockers and feeders and_
nearly 10 per cent cows.
Slaughter steers graded mostly
good and choice. Bulk choice fed
steers 1,000-1,300 lbs. $23.25-24,
high choice and mixed high
choice and prime $24.50-25.65,

Shows Little Change
HARRISBURG Pennsylvania
fanners during the first' three
months of 1957 produced for
slaughter about the same-amount
of beef, veal and lamb as they did
for the corresponding period in
1956, the State Department of Ag
riculture said today, following
Federal-State surveys.
The March output was 73,93Ej,-
000 pounds, 2Va per cent above
February’s production-of 72,129,-
000 pounds and two per cent be
low the total output of March,
4956.
Pennsylvania slaughterings for
March included 69,000 head of
heef cattle, 82,000 calves, 230,000
hogs, and 28,000 sheep and lambs.
