County, won first place with a

fourth, Southard was sixth and

Youths from Lancaster County
who made the top 15 in the re
gional contest were Carolyn W 1-
son, R 1 Bareville, seventh, Wil
liam Wilson, R 1 Bareville,
eighth; Robert Wilson, R 1 Baie
ville, twelfth, and Charles War
fel, R 1 Conestoga, thirteenth.
Robert Wilson 'brought honor
to the County by raising the
heaviest birds exhibited at Coat
esville. His 15 White Mountains
weighed in at 75 pounds, for a
five pound per bird average.
There were 130 entries at the
regional contest. They included
56 from Lancaster County, 51

ter County and six from Adams
County,

All entered birds were dressed
out at nine weeks of age after
being fed to market weight. Each
youngster started with 50 to 100

million The March total com

full fiscal year 1956.
Under USDA’s barter program,
Corhmodity Credit Corporation
owned farm commodities are ex
changed for minimum, long-term,
and supplemental-type strategic
materials for stockpiling, and for
materials for transfer to other
Government agencies.
Supplemental-iype strategic ma
terials contracted for in March
1957 included: Chrome mental,
$ll3 million; lead $44 million,
and zinc, $2 1 milion.
