    Poultry Queen Contest Applications

Applications are now being ac- in the state contest for the title of

try queen.
According to Claude F. Smith,
Lancaster, contest chairman, the
contest offers a dignified oppor
tunity for young ladies interested
in agriculture to help promote
sales of poultry products.
“The winner of the contest will
be the most important “woman of
the year” to the poultry industry
in Lancaster County. The winner
will also represent our poultry in
dustry in sales promotion work,
radio, television and press,” Jie
said.
The winner of the Lancaster
County Contest will be selected
and prizes awarded during the
seventh annual broiler barbeque
at Lititz Springs Park, June 15.
The Queen selected at Lititz,
will represent Lancaster County

keys;. a hatcheryman or a
processor.
Dress for the contest will be an
afternoon’ dress without hat.
Entry deadline for the contest
is June 1. Only a limited number
of-applicants can participate.

The burgesses of three county
buroughs, two service club repre
sentatives and the deputy mayor
of Lancaster were told of the im
pact of the poultry industry on
the County economy at a chicken
barbeque to kick-off broiler week
Saturday at the Lancaster Poultry
Center.

Levi-Brubaker said that the in
dustry has been working toward
improving the marketing facili
