GROUND BEEF PRICES
INDICATE CUT SOURCE
Do you wonder why there are
so many prices for ground beef
or hamburger?
Ground beef may come from
the chuck, neck, brisket plate,
or shank, flank, and heel of
round, reports Louise Hamilton,
extension nutrition specialist of
the Pennsylvania ‘State Univer
sity. Usually the lowest priced
ground beef has the highest per
centage of fat. The most expen
sive is from the choicest cuts
‘round steaks or sirloin tips.
