Broiler Price Drops Half Cent
At Lancaster Exchange Wednesday
In „adiUon a lot of 300 Leghorn
fowl sold for 12% cents, a lot of
11 week old capettes went for 22-
Vfe cents; a lot of 250 capettes sold
for 30 cents and a lot of pullet
capettes also sold for 30 cents.
In all last week, 117,990 birds
were sold at an average price of
21.09 cents.
LANCASTER, April 3 The
broiler price dropped half a cent
from the preceding Friday auc
tion at the Lancaster Exchange
today.
Demand appeared weak as only
37,345 of 66,545 birds offered
sold. The average price for broil
ers was 20.86 cents with 36,425
birds being sold. The range was
from 20% cents to 21% cents.
Three lots of Leghorn Fowl,
1,120 in all, sold for 13 and 13%
cents. A lot of 32 week old -capons
sold for 4% cents.
During the past month 439,105
birds were sold through the Lan
caster Exchange in 122 lots. The
average price for all birds for the
month was 20.9-cents with the
range being from 22.2 cents to
19.7 cents.
