in Hand, adds a 1:1000 solution of silver nitrate to the
cleaned bagged seed. Note that a common earthenware
crock is.used to soak the seed. The seed is soaked for 15
minutes
(above) AFTER THE SEED has soaked in the silver nitrate,
it is washed thoroughly with clean soft water. A glass fun
nel is recommended so that it can be seen when the dark
solution is washed out of the seed. The used solution and
wash water may be disposed of anywhere. It will not kill
plants, although it is toxic if taken internally by humans

a meeting, of the Lancaster
County Council. The meeting**
will be held at 5 p.m. May 6, in
