had suggested.
It was reported that the soci
ety is presently conducting a
drive to increase membership.
The next meeting will be held

Farm Society 20 visited the
Lancaster County Home on
Wednesday with Farm Society

Mr and Mrs. Thomas Ferguson,
Kirkwood RD> at their meeting
last Thursday in the home of

Society 1 Hears
Mrs. Mary Hess
Mrs. Mary Hess, a retired mis
sionary, who served 36 years in
Africa, was ithe guest speaker at
a meeting of Society 1 March 2
at the home of Mrs Abram Bol
linger, R 4 Lititz.
Contributions of food were
brought for the Cnspus Attucks
Center. An invitation from Soci
ety 10 was read inviting the
ladies to accompany them to the
Flower Show in Philadelphia,
March 27,
A contribution of $5 was voted
for the Health Fair at the Y M.
C. A Mrs Howard Wolf gave a
report of the executive boSrd
meeting, and a food sale at the
Snyder farm on March 20 was
announced.
Mrs. C. H. Nissfey distributed
material for cancer dressings to
be made by the members
Mrs. Roy Bollinger was co
hostess, and Mrs. Wolf presided.
Miss Patty Bollinger had charge
of the devotions and entertained
with piano selections.
The next meeting will be held
April 6 at the home of Mrs.
Claytpn 'Sangrey. Hartmg’s, bak
ery will demonstrate cake de
corating.

Plan Spelling Bee
Farm Women 2 plan to hold an
old washioned Spelling Bee at
7-15 p. m. next Fnday, March 22,
in the Penryn Fire Hall. There
will be four classes and three
prizes given to each class.
Entertainment will be furnish
ed by the Holstein No. 4 Quartet
from Lampeter. Mrs. John Roth,
Florin, will give a monologue.
Farm Women 2 will also present
a play. There will be refresh
ments and a sale will be conduct
ed at the end of.the program.

Society 22 to Serve
At Crispus Attucks
Farm Women 22 met March 12
at the home of Mrs. Clarence
Rohrer, Smoketown.
The women will serve at the
Cnspus Attucks Center in Lan
caster, April 4. On April 10, the
group will entertain at the
County Home.
Also planned is a mother
daughter banquet May 8 at Mil
ler’s Restaurant.
The next meeting of the Society
will be held at 1:30 p. m. April 9,
at the home of Nancy Bare.

played a number of her violet
plants. Marimba selections were
played by Mrs. Chester Christ.
