Ist and Oct. 31st, and Winter Bulls and Heifers calved between Nov Ist and Dec. 31st All groups ha\e been eliminated except three bulls, two bulls, and the get of sire The class for Two-Year-Old fe males has been eliminated. In the Junior Calf class, the division is A. For shows before Jan Ist Calved after Jan. Ist the previous year. B. For shows after Jan Ist Calved between Jan Ist and Sept 28th of the pre vious year For shows after Jan Ist, there is included in the classification a special class for the late spring calves which would include those calves dropped after March 1 the previous year This class would replace the present Summer Calf class. The Junior and Senior Calf classes are divided the same in the Junior Division breeding show. S. Department of Agri culture has announced issuance of an authorization to Spain to finance purchase of up to $l,- 002,400 worth of frozen carcass beef from United States suppliers under Title I of Public Law 480 The issuance was under an und erstanding with Spain to re-au thome amounts remaining from purchase authorizations previ ously issued. Authorization No. 17-35 pro vides for purchase of approxi mately 4 million pounds of U. S. Utility Grade Carcass beef Specifications are as follows frozen carcass beef in quarters Class steer, heifer or cow; Grade —U. S. Utility. Equal number of fore and hind quart ers unless contract specifies fores or hinds only. Weight range fore quarters lib to 210 pounds, hind quarters 105 to 190 pounds. The beef shall be thoroughly frozen as expeditiously as practi cable after chilling, and at a temperature not higher than minus 5 degrees F. and shall compßy with requirements speci fied in Paragraphs 3 1 and 321 of Federal Specifications for Beef, Fresh, PP-B-221c.
