Snyder. For four years Snyder has conducted studies of game populations, hunting suc cess and the -effects of land man agement, on- wildlife in the Conemaugh River Reservoir in Indiana - County. The total area within the reservoir is 7,410 acres It is a dry bed reservoir, with' 300 acres covered by the minimum pool. The reservoir area contains many fertile farm lands. Here are the results of some of Snyder's research in the area: Small 'game hunting -surveys were, conducted on the Cone maugh Reservoir from 1950 to 1955. Results of these surveys reveal that a large percentage of the season’s -hunting pressure is expended by the end of the second week. Hunting pressure is high on the Conemaugh Reservoir. *lt New Ful-O-Pep Laying Ration Promotes laying rallo^ C. Snavely &,Sons, Inc. Landisville, Pa. Millport Roller Mills Lititz,. R D. 4, Pa. Ross C. This is one of the practical phases of the compre hensive training course these men receive. n going to the field each stu guidarice of an experienced dent officer will come under the Game Protector. In pre-season work and during the small game season the trainees will work in areas where hunters concentrate. Later they will be transferred to other localities where the bear and deer hunting is heaviest. In the move they will profit, also, from association with other ex perienced Gams Piotectors. All of the members of the present Student ffleer class were deputies with consideiahle ex perience prior to qualifying through a series of competitive examinations to attend the School Experiences they will have m game season and things they will learn from seasoned officers of the Commission will augment knowledge gained m the classroom. These experi ences, plus further instruction at the School early in 1957, will amply qualify the Student Offi cers as State Game Protectois when they graduate from the course next spring SOMETHING LIKE A traveler back from New York says that in restaurants there a calico bag of tea is put in a cold teapot and warm water poured in The beverage tastes something like British coffee does to an American.
