Some local fairs are now in progress; oth ers already pis*, and several re main- on the fall calendar Among those scheduled for next week is the New Holland Farm ers Fair, one of the most exten sive observances of its type in the area. The Farmers Fair, to be held m the borough of New Holland, will nun from Wednes day, Oct 3 through Saturday, Oct. 6. Staged by the New Holland Farmers Day Association, the 1956 annual street fair will mark its 25th anniversary. President Robert O. Whitmore has announced that many special events are being plan ned for the' occasion. In anti cipation of the 25th birthday celebration and the expanded Farmers Fair program, the As sociation expects that all previ- ous attendance records will be surpassed during this year’s ' observance. In the four-day period last season, the Fair drew an estimated 90,000 peo- ple. One highlight of the big birth day party for the Farmers Fair will be the presentation of $3OO in free merchandise certificates, redeemable in New Holland stores and business places. Cash prizes of $l5O will be presented. The Garden Spot High School Band, of the Eastern Lancaster Coun ty Jointure, will lead the Pet Parade. Under the direction Paul H.White, the band will also pfay a concert at 9:30 o’clock Friday night at the bandstand in front of the New Holland High School. The Baby Parade will take place at 4.00 Saturday afternoon. Always a high point of interest during the Fair, this parade is sponsored by Groff’s "Hardware, and is conducted by the New Holland Business and Profes sional Women’s Club. The Gar den Spot High School Band will also lead the Baby Parade.
