Make Outstanding
Records in Breed
A registered Guernsey herd
has made an outstanding produc
tion average in the Lancaster
County DHIA, according to the
American Guernsey Cattle Club
The 45-cow herd of Raymond
F Witmer, Willow Streat, has
finished the 1955-56 testing year
with an excellent average of
10,697 lbs milk and 534 lbs fat,
highest fat average in the county
for a herd of this size
As on-a would imagine, several
of Mr. Witmer’s cows made high
individual records For instance,
in the 305-day class, Barbian
Golden Dolly produced 14,782
pounds fat, Zaitler’s Prediction
Drucilla, 13,088 and 645, and
Barbian Fonatta, 13,266 and 634.
Witmer also had three cows m
this year’s county 3000-pound fat
club They included Sue’s Peer
less Santa, with 107,151 pounds
milk and 5177 pounds lat in 10
years, Meadow View’s Agnes
Gloria, 96,140 and 4572 in 9
years, and Meadow View’s Red
Blossom, 70,312 and 3237 in lust
over six vears.
