Mylin, Lancaster County superintendent of schools, told the audience that exclu sive of parochial schools, Columbia and Lancaster City Pequea Valley School Dedicated; Cost Per Pupil Record Low of $1,666 By LF Staff Reporter Constructed at a record low cost of $1,666 per pupil, the new $1,250,000 Pequea Valley Joint Junior-Senior High School was dedicated Saturday at Newport Road between Intercourse and Gap. In use since the September term opened, the school is on a 20-acre plot of land where Salis bury, Leacock and Paradise townships meet. Land for the new building was purchased froi® the John Weaver Estate, Ezra King and Harvey Keller. Among presentations were two from Farm Womens Socie ties of Lancaster County. Farm Women 7 were acknowledged for their gift of shrubbery at the en trance, and Farm Women 14 pre sented split-leaf philodendron for the lobby. Greetings were extended from J. K. Bowman, department of public instruction, Harrisburg; by Arthur P. Mylm, Lancaster County Superintendent of School; and George P. Sum mers, authority member. Pres entation of the building was by Robert Burnley, chairman of the school authority, acceptance by Earle Emery, president of the Pequea Valley Joint School Board. Presentation of Gifts The invocation, dedicatory prayer and benediction were by the Rev. Frank Drukenbrod, re tired EUB pastor of Salisbury Township, former pastor of the Limeville EUB Church. Presentation of gifts were made with the VFW P. J. Bair, II Post No. 7418 giving the Am erican flag; Tanawa Post 409 American Legion, the United Na tions Flag; Salisbury Township Alumni, lobby furniture; Para dise Class of 1955, lectern and chairs; Intercourse Civic Asso ciation, Holy Bible; Farm Women 7, shrubbery; Gap PTA, tree; Salisbury Township Lions Club, evergreens; Salisbury Township PTA, evergreens, and Farm Women 14, plants for "the lobby.
