26, 1956) Records fell in the
Thursday auction of broilers at
the Lancaster Poultry Exchange,
when the Oct 24, 1955 mark on
receipts fell under the impact of
171,900 birds Included were
169,800 broilers, also a new rec
ord for the Exchange here. On
Oct 24 last year, 165,000 were
sold.
Prices gained a half cent to
average 22 51 with 60 lots of
189.210 birds listed, 58 lots total
ing 181,820 were offered, and
four lots totaling 9,720 birds
were not sold. Fifty one lots of
broilersr 169.800 birds, sold from
18 to 24 cents, averaging 22.51;
two lots of capettes, 1400 total,
brought 2811 and one lot of
heavy fowl sold at 27, with 700
total
For the corresponding
sale a year ago, Thursday
April 28, 1955, Sale 50, with
41 lots totaling 127,325 birds
offered, Including capettes,
horinonized and fowl, with
33 lots selling, totaling 115,-
