shire Herd Testing with an aver

recognition during a recent
month for outstanding produc
tion. The 20 producers are
credited with averaging 946 lbs
of 42% milk and 40 lbs of hut
terfat, actual, which placed them
among the nation’s top Ayr
shire herds in the Ayrshire Herd
Test Division of 15 to 25 cows.
In accordance with the rules

Ayrshire Breeders’ Association.

On a strictly twice-a-day
milking schedule, the entire
herd of 35 head made an actual
production average of 10,340 lbs
of milk and 448 lbs of butter
fat. Ninety-one per cent of the
herd was bred or owned by this
breeder for at least four years.
