Poultry Exchange Thursday,
broiler prices gained slightly,
moving a quarter cent higher
than the preceding Tuesday’s
sale. Topping the broiler market
was Mary Forry, R 1 Lancaster,
who received 24% cents for 700
White Vantress crosses, 10 wks,
one dav, on the bid of Martin
M Brendle, R 1 Strasburg.
There were 28 lots of a total
82,815 birds offered and listed,
26 lots totaling 71,740 sold, with
21 lots of broilers totaling 68,525
selling in a range of 21% to
24%, averaging 22 51.
Three lots of capettes, 1665
birds, sold from 29 to 31 cents;
one lot of 1100 cappns brought
26, and one lot of 14 week old
broilers, 450 birds, sold for
25% cents.
