NEILL Forty-seven hundred baby chicks—a day old—flew into Lancaster Saturday afternoon from lowa, hitting around 200 miles per hour at times at alti tudes up to 13.500 feet. These airborne, youngsters hatched Friday morning, were passengers of Bob Nelson in a Beechcraft Bonanza, changing residence from the Corn State to the Garden Spot to provide an Adam-Eve basis for a new breed here- The plane which can carry 10,000 chicks, took off from Boland. lowa at 5:45 a.m. Stand and Time. One refueling stop was made in Findlay, Ohio, and, ipceordinir to Bob, the specially equipped .plane made the trip almost half way across the con tinent in seven hours, landing In Lancaster around 2 rpm. Combine remaining in gredients and cook to hard ball state (250 degrees). Pour hot syrup over popped corn, mixing wel. Form in two-inch ball (pat with hands if necessary). .
