port. This brings export sales of
CCC-owned nonfat dry milk to
15,871,439 lbs.'

USDA has announced the sale
of 1,212,000 lbs of Commodity
Credit Corporation-owned U, S-

special financing either through
ICA or P. L- 480, In addition,
sales on a fixed price basis prior

since that time bring the overall
commercial export sale of CCC
owned butter to 15,219,636 lbs.

LBS. RUTTER FOR EXPORT
USDA announced the offer of
an additional 10 million lbs of
Commodity Credit Corporation
owned butter for sale on a com
petitive bid basis for commer
cial export. Bids will be receiv
ed immediately on a daily basis
Bids for the butter acquired by
CCC in its price support opera
tions may be submitted on the
basis of delivery f. a- s. port of
export, or at point of storage.-
Bids *may be made on U. S.
Grade A or U. S. Grade B but
ter. Within 60 days after de
livery date, proof of export of
butter must be submitted. The
butter may be reprocessed? or
repackaged for export as approv
ed by CCO, or butter having
equivalent quantities of butter
fat from U. S. _ production may

ISRAEL ISSUED PURCHASE
AUTHORIZATION for BUTTER
USDA announced issurance of
an authorization to the Govern
ment of Israel to purchase up to
$900,000 worth of butter under
Title I of the Agricultural Trade
Development and Assistance Act
of 1954 (Public Law 480, 83rd
Congress). The details of the
agreement with Israel calling for
total sales 0f*517.04 million worth
of U. S. surplus agricultural com
modities to that country were
reported in. USDA Press Release
2968-55, dated November 16,
1955. This transaction involves
approximately 2.2 million lbs of
salted creamery butter, Grade B
or better.

POUNDS OF HAMBURGER
USDA announced the awarding
of contracts for the purchase of
6,725,000 lbs of frozen hamburg
er for school lunch and offered
to buy approximately 5 million
additional lbs for the same pur
pose. Purchases were at prices
ranging from 29 94 cents to 34.97
cents per lb. In making awards,,
consideration was given to prices
at fo- b. points in relation to
areas where it is planned" to use
the product- Awards were made
to 19 bidders out of 44 who of
fered a total of 18,512,000 lbs.
