Now that we have your attention; for those of you
wondering what the headline means, XXX means 3 strikes
in a row, which is also referred to as a turkey.
Ever wanted to start a club on campus, or a new
sports team? Jonathan Leonhard did and actually got
results. At 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30 Penn State
Delaware County started a new bowling league. The league
plays every Wednesday night until the last week of classes.
Sproul Lanes will be the home of the league, located near
Cardinal O'Hara High School on route 320 in Broomall,
about fifteen minutes away from campus.
Every week it will cost $7 to play; however a few
of those dollars will go towards trophies, prizes and other
fun stuff. This includes shoes and ball rental, though those
of you that have your own can use them.
There is room for about ten teams consisting of
various student, faculty, and staff members. For example,
there could be a Bookstore team, a Computer Guy team, a
Newspaper team, and so on. Family members and friends
can play in the league if there are two people directly asso-
ciated with the campus. :
There are four people to a team, and a 'ghost'
bowler is also allowed. A 'ghost' bowler is a substitute for
a person on the team in case someone can't make it one
week. Also, there will be a handicap to help boost scores
and enthusiasm.
The league promises to be exciting, eventful and a
good way to release some energy from a long school day.
The time of the league each week, 9 p.m., allows those who
take night classes to join.
If you're not a bowler, look at the determination of
one individual to make a difference on campus and start a
new club.

The Delco Roller Hockey B team had suffered
a crushing no win season last semester.
Many factors are attributed to the disappoint-
ment, but all of which are considered by most to just be
kinks in the gears of a new team.
The College League accepted the B team just
last semester. Most of the players on the rink are fresh-
man and have never worked with each other previously.
Even their freshman head coach, Toni Hoffman, had no
real experience in actual coaching.
"I know- these guys. They needed a coach and
I was willing to help out," she said in an impromptu
interview after a game.
Delco's second semester ushered in a new sce-
nario to the inexperienced team.
After making a collective decision, they left
the College League and the team entered themselves
into The Men's Hockey League (TMHL) over at the Tri-
State Sports Complex, where all the games are held.
Along with the new league, they acquired their

third captain of the team. The first captain was Pradeep
Kulkarni who did an "Eric Desjardins" and transferred
it to Joseph Corrozzo who had to give it up because of
his switch to a temporary goalie position. Beginning
this season, the captainship is in the hands of Rich
Myers, who was the original goalie. All of these men-
tioned players are freshman.
When asked how the team's progress is going,
Corrozzo had this to offer.
"I have a feeling that we're going to win a few,
and you know, if not, there's always next season."
He added that the team has gotten much better
from last season, but it's going to take much more effort
to be the best.
"It seems I provided tightness. Since we're a
first year team, there is no team connection. We're just
not used to playing with each other," Myers said.
When asked how his captainship affected the
game play of the team, Myers said, "now that we've got-
ten more experience, our team is playing smarter hock-
ey. And as a result, the individuals are getting better. We
can only get better."
