That’s the question that will be
answered by many of our very Penn State
Mont Alto students! Oren Peli, the director
of Paranormal Activity, took a page out of
the Blair Witch playbook, some video cam-
eras, and fifteen grand and made it into a
movie. It was then off to 2007 scream fest
horror film festival where thousands of
other filmmakers have the exact same
dream. Talent Agency CAA, Creative Art-
ists Agency, saw something special in Peli
and signed him. They even got Steven
Spielberg to watch the movie at home and
as legend tells it, after watching the movie,
Spielberg was inexplicably locked inside
his bedroom and had to call a locksmith to
get him out. :
The next day, he brought the
film into his office in a protective gar-
bage bag and was an instant fan of Peli’s
work. So is Peli on his way to fame and
fortune? Not exactly! While there was
plenty of interest in Peli’s film, the best
deal CAA could get was to have Peli di-

mal Activity that it’s overhyped?
Lidia Ganjon, a sophomore
studying Pre-Vet, says that she was
scared when she watched the movie and
could not sleep that night. She rates the
movie 8 out of 10 and says that you
should “ask someone before you move in
with them if they have any demons fol-
lowing them.” Moemoe Thidar, a fresh-
man studying Psychology, says that she
wasn’t scared of the movie because she
knew it wasn’t real. She also says that
she liked the ending that she saw and
agreed with Steven Spielberg’s decision.
Moemoe rates the movie 6 out of 10 say-
ing “they should have made it more
scary and the camera moved too much in
the beginning so I got a headache. Some
of my friends went to sleep because they
thought it was boring.”
