Whether it is having to raise six children on her own, or face certain obstacles that come her way, she still manages to come out on top. Every woman can be a strong woman in her own right. No female is born this way, and it is ones experiences that make them who they are today. Any woman that encompasses these attributes will not only become a well respected individual, but will maintain a sense of empower- ment. Here are a few women around campus that display im- portant qualities. Ms. Go-girl: The go-getter someone that knows what she wants, and is ready to work hard to obtain her goal. No matter what comes her way she is pre- pared to work as hard as she can to reach her destination. (Saskia Hamilton & Alejandra San- tamaria) git Ms. In-tune with Herself: She recognizes her strengths and her weaknesses. This is what makes her even stronger, the fact that she knows what her flaws are and works to improve them and make them better. (Davina Terry) Ms. High Expectations: Having high expectations is not a bad thing, having high expectations for yourself and the people you choose to surround yourself with will propel you to greater heights. On February 20, James went on to score his career high of 55 points against the Milwaukee Bucks. It will be interesting to see if James decides to go to another team in 2010 because he becomes a free agent during that time. : Since Michael Jordan, there has been two players that fans can compare with him which are Lebron James and Kobe Bryant. It is probably too early to really compare James to Jordan, but one should not doubt his abilities on the court. He has the skills to cre- ate and recreate himself each and every night. is great to have high expectations don’t let it dictate your judgment on others. If there is one thing that hurts people in the long run is being stuck-up. Give people a chance, you may never know, the person who is nothing today may be something tomorrow and help you in the future.(Shani Patterson) Ms. Cocky...Never That: “empty barrels make the loudest noise”, a strong woman doesn’t need to broadcast her intelligence or her- self. Instead she uses her talent positively by helping others excel in life, and doesn’t look down on others. “A mind is a terrible thing to waste”, use not only for your butthose who neglect their health for others sadly finish last. (Shardae Wescott) Ms. Confident: “Stick‘s and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” this is definitely true for a woman that loves herself inside and out. Con- fidence is a damn good thing; we need more confident women in this world! (Imma Gary & Jeanette Silverstein) Every strong woman goes through an obstacle in their life, what makes them strong is that they come out of it alive. A few influential include Whitney Hous- | ton, Brittany Spears, Oprah Win- others. (Kathy Le) Ms. Kindness Kindness is key but not always. Although it is great to help others, a strong woman will never forget about her well-being. Call it selfish, Tina Marie, Tyra Banks, Jada pinkett, Jennifer Hudson, Eleanor Roosevelt, Evita Peron, Rosa Parks, Michelle Obama, Mother Theresa, and a shout out to all our beautiful mothers.
