His hour long performance
surely made an impact on his
audience. Comedian Spanky
made an appearance at Mont Alto
on Tuesday, January 17, 2006.
In the beginning of his
performance Spanky made it
quite clear that his intentions
were not to offend anyone.
there were no jokes specifically
aimed at one group. He dared to
be bold in bringing up things
such as religion, race, and
politics in. his diversified
audience.
A free-spirited person,
Spanky joked about his own life.
With all his jokes Spanky still
made it possible to get across life
lessons such as “the opposite of
love is not hate, it is fear.”
Spanky believes that if you
“strongly dislike someone; it
was probably because you fear
them.” At the end of his
performance Spanky states “he
believes that laughter is an
important part of everyone’s life
opportunity to enjoy a good
laugh.” With a combination of
clean and dirty jokes he had
everyone in the audience
laughing at least a couple of
times.
On the other hand, many
audience members found the
performance below average.

A calm atmosphere, the
sipping of coffee, the rocking of
heads back and forth, and
tapping of feet was the scene on
Wednesday, January 25% in
Wiestling. K.J. James, a blues
guitarist, was entertaining a big
audience as he sang them his
blues. Being nominated twice
year, K.J. definitely makes an
impact when he sings his blues

According to Jesuit
University K.J. James is referred
to as “one of the country’s
most celebrated blues artist and
most beloved campus
entertainers in the country”
because of his moving
performances. He grew up
surrounded by blues in South
Carolina. His Uncle Henry is
one of the influential people in
his life that he first heard sing

countless performances
showing off his incredible
capabilities. With his hands
on his guitar, the sound
instantly sweeps you off your
feet. His voice mesmerized the
audience as we listened.
Mont Alto had a big turn
out the night K.J. performed.
Audience members ranging in
ages, from student to professor
to parents, and an overall
copies amount of people came
out to see this tasteful blues
singer. Looking around,
people listened attentively as
they were overwhelmed with
K.J.’s words. His words
captured the attention of
audience members
immediately. His humor
made his blues even more
interesting. K.J. was truly
humorous as he sang some of
his blues such as in the song
entitled “Breakfast Blues.”
K.J. noted that some of his
songs were mostly
improvisational. With
playing his guitar and singing
the blues improvisational, K.J.
