v9l. XVI No. 4 COUNCIL APPROVES BUDGET; STUDENT-FACULTY BOARD ACTS TODAY Members of Student Council voted unanimously for the proposed budget at a special meeting Thursday at 5 o'clock. During the fifth period today, the Student- Faculty Board will meet to give their approval or disapproval of the budget. As passed by Council the budget is as follows: 4 Womenls Club I' Commuffity Chorus College Arts Society Basketball Intramurals (including fncing) Hasileton Collegian The money-alloted for social activities will be used for the con . ation dinne three major dances (the Thanksgiving dance, the AFROTC Ball, and the T7Aydance), t spring allpollege pienic„ and various parties, ,:The exact amounts to be assigned for each event will be decided by the social committee, which is headed by Norm Ha and - Jack Denciran. The decision on basketball came after Student Council had conducted a surveY anoig the members of the student body. Council voted unanimously for sponsoring a lihsktball tear, which will cost almost a third of the proposed budget. . Pesponse among the men concerned was sounded out when Yr. Peightal, the facult director of athletics, called a meeting at. which 17 men signed up for the team.
