Twenty-seven issues in 32 weeks is the publication record of this year's
HAZLETON COLLEGIAN staff* In almost no other field of studont activity is there
need for such consistent pegging away—— neeting a deadline each weekj somehow,
sone hour of the night or naming getting those canary-yellow sheets of nevra and
features into the " public's " hands before the news is cold.
Members of this year's staff were not only assiduous in covering their
weekly assignments; they also developed news sense and good taste to the degree
that the adviser did not have to advises in the case of several recent issues the
adviser jus£ cranked the mimeograph and read the news at the same time as "the
Public"
We must thank the MU DELTA SIGNAL and Melvin the Mole for the stimulus
they gave to the reading habits of Highacres denizens and for lending the
COLLEGIAN some ace reporters.
"FRONT AND CENTER"
With convocation in the air, the Butler Mountain spring breezes blow over
Highacres and intheir calm swells bring us their invigorating tang of trophy time.
Some ancient legend has it that the breezes of Highacres bring about reverse actions
on certain occasions; therefore in maintaining and adhering to this legend, we with
unbounded pleasure shall present to each and every student attending Highacres his
or her OBVERSE OSCAR.
In placing emphasis upon the word "obverse" we Y/ish to clearly point out
that—each inscription is meant for the direct opposite*
So if you will rise and step up to the platform when your name is read,
wa will present you with your "Obverse Oscar" for 7/our outstanding trait.
With your phantom trophy we bid you farewell through THE 'cOLLEGIAH —your
college newspaper—and hope that many moons from today you -will remember us as
we have remembered you#
