I l EDITORIAL An American flag fluttering in the breeze at the peak of a strong flag pole is a true sign of freedom to everyone who sees it. One gets a feeling of loyalty when he sees such a sight, and he knows that whoever originated this idea was proud to display this symbol of his free country. Because a flagpole and a flag are dependent upon each other, a flag pole without a flag can truly be called a pole without a country, and flag without its support to the breeze seems lifeless and dormant —-a poor example of our nation. It is a fact that Highacres has on its grounds both a pole without a country and a perfectly usabel flag that is at present in a state of folded dormancy. After discovering these facts, we wonder why these two objects that go so well together are separated. After inquiring briefly, it has been discovered that the problem of adjusting a pulley to the pole is the immediate drawback. It has also been stated that the cost of this operation virould be no-Tnore than five to six dollars—a comparatively little amount for a really Indispensable college campus item. Our flag pole is situated in a very appropriate position visible for miles across Conyngham Valley and would be a very impressive sight if adorned with out national symbol. When. will our pole without a country become repatriated? NOTICE FROM TRAFFIC COMMITTEE Students are reminded that parking regulations are in effect until 5 P. M. Monday through Friday. Parking is not permitted along the main road or in any of the side roads AT ANY TIME. Parking along the road will destroy the grass and flowersj therefore, anyone violating this rule can expect a parking ticket. A WORD FROM THE PHAROH The Pharoh of the fourth Dynasty of Mummies, Nick Pelick, stated that the meeting which was to be held this Wednesday was called off because of a faculty meeting. STUDENT-COM'TJNITY CHORUS PLANS FOR CONCERT MAY 5 The annual spring concert of the Student Communitv Chorus to be held May 5 is in the final stage of preparation,, Several committees have been appointed including a program committee, an invitation committee, and a decoration committee. Two others, a stage committee and the ushers, have not been appointed as yet. Miss Garbrick has asked all those students interested in helping on these two committees to speak to her before the end of this week. PARNASSUS DISCUSSES ACTIVITY OF POINTS At the last meeting of Parnassus held Wednesday, March 25, the compilation of the points for this semester was discussed. Any student who feels ho has not received the correct number of points which he is Entitled to, should consult his advisor. Within the next two weeks, new pledges to Parnassus will bo chosen.
