stated that special thanks are due to Paul Bain, Noman Hall, Robert Kenney,

Both the Mexican film, shown last month, and this week’s offering wore so

FINAL ROUNDUP ON FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
During the past two weeks twenty-three new fire extinguishers havo been
placed in the various buildings at Highacres. Four have been placed in the
Memorial Dormitory; two in the Student Council building; two in South Hall; one
in the Chemistry Laboratory; and fifteen in the Main building.
Of the tvmety-three extinguishers installed, twenty-one arc the soda-acid
type} two, carbon tetrachloride. The soda-acid type extinguishers can be operat
ed by turning the tank upside down and pointing the hose at the fire*
The two carbon tetrachloride extinguishers (located in the kitchen and
downstairs in the Memorial Dormitory) must be pumped by hand. These twonty-tliree
new extinguishers, along with two foam type extinguishers in the Chemistry
Laboratory and two water outlets (outside the Main Building), to which the hoses
located in the basement of the Main Building can be attached, arc helping to pro
tect Highacres in the event of any fire, large or small.
Prepare yourself to use them at the first hint of a fire*
OVERHEARD IN THE PING PONG ROCM
The other afternoon I was sitting in the dining commons watching the Bunny
Hop on television. It was then that Pundi Turribach came over and invited me to
the "rec” room to take Bunny **op lessons* After I had ’’smartened up” to the
facts of the Bunny Hop, I decided to stay in the roc room, where 1 witnessed
an exciting ping pong game featuring that terrific brother combination, John and
Bob Crofcheck, who were playing ’’lrish” Eugene O’neill and Sergeant Bill Sarkas*
On the side lines awaiting their crach at the title were the little-seen freshmen
engineers, Bill Polgrean, Ted %msza, Jim Elliot, Eddie Evancho, Mat Galatha,
Ted Horvath, Tom Kochie, Dan Postupack, Bob Prochko, and Mike Yankowski*
Then the noisy spectators started their remarks. This old bunch includes
Emil Butchko, Mary ”3.9 average” Donish, Ed Keller, Peter P. Pavuk, Jin "Waite
Bucks” Kobrick, "Lovable" Larry Sydlo, Bob Valaik, and Frank Xnnnes.
While I was there John Misoda came out of hiding from the books and made
a fine showing with the ping pong paddle. Ho didn’t even need his slide rulel
I was happy to see Katy Kokinda, Mabel Lords, and Wizdo, "still
trying.”
Just as I was about to return to the dining commons and the Bunny Hop,
Tony "Chief Point Mrguer" Tarone told me that when he is old and just about to
die, the last words to leave his parched lips will be— 1 "I challenge the winners®"
Next week we'll have some more idle talk straight from the ping pong players
haven.
SWING YAR PARTNER
March 19, initiated the Center's first dancing class in which thirty-five
rollicking individuals attended.
Through the generosity of Paul Bain, a recording machine was donated, and
once old tap-toes Tracy began his Irish version of the Bunny Hop, the crowd
followed suit enjoying every minute of a well-liked and much-needed dancing
period*
Due to the Easter vacation the next dancing class will resume following the
holidays* Since dancing is universal and so is laughter, cut yourself in on a
gay time at the next dancing class*
