GOOD NEWS FOR FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH: ALL-COLLEGE VALENTINES DAY PARTY
First on the spring list of social affairs to be sponsored by the Student
Council's newly appointed social committee under the leadership of the new chairman,
Robert Tomsho, is the All-College St. Valentine's Day Party this Friday night
(February 13) in the main lounge of the college. Opening time is set for 8:00.
For this party, Nicholas Skimbo has been appointed general chairman. He has
assigned various sub-committees to handle details of the party. On the entertainment
committee are James UstynoskL, Janice Magavich, Joseph Beiovich, Beverly Wizdo,
and Manuel Barbeito.
Given the project of decorating the lounge in the St. Valentine's Day theme are
Peter Kerutis, Mary Donish, Jean Haegele, and Peter Zablocki. The preparation of
the all-important food will be under the direction of Mabel Lewis, Beverly Wizdo,
Anthony Pecone, Mary Donish, and Manuel Barbeito,
According to the latest reports, the band committee composed of Nick Skimbo,
Janice Magavich, and Bill Burcin has secured a band guaranteed to make feet move.
And the best committee of all ( the one everyone strives to be appointed to),
the clean-up committee, is composed of Nick Skimbo, Pete Kerutis, Don Neifert, and
Pete Zablocki.
The committee feels that it can give a great party, and asks only one thing
of the students THEIR ATTENDANCE.
The party comes at a fine time to give the newly entered students an opportun
ity to become acquainted with the rest of the students.

STUDENT COUNCIL.
NEW SOCIAL ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE TO BE PROPOSED TO COUNCIL
A committee from the student body at large will be proposed to Student Council
at its Wednesday meeting by new Council social chairman Robert Tomsho. The purpose
of the committee would be to study and propose to Student Council the social
calendar for the semester. In turn the proposed committee would be willing to
accept the responsibility of carrying out the plans if council would delegate this
responsibility to the committee.
The idea, explained Tomsho, would be to broaden the base of interest in and
responsibility for the student social affairs of the college.

The weekly meeting of the Student Council was held Wednesday fifth period".
The following points were discussed:
1. Miss Dolores Dißubbo and Joan Griesing appeared before the council and asked
for Saturday, May 9 to be set as the date for May Day, The council voted to
approve the date, with Sunday, May 10 as the rain date* The May Day Dance (Queen's
Ball) will be held May 9 rain or not,
2* Miss Dißubbo asked Council for their reaction to a proposal for a Kay Day tea
under the auspices of the Women's Auxiliary of the Hazleton Educational Council,
Social committee chairman Bob Tomsho suggested that a member of the Auxiliary
should discuss plans for such a tea with the Council at a regular meeting,
3, Because Joe Mehalick has transferred to the main campus, his council position
of social chairman had to be filled. Council elected Bob Tomsho.
