COLLEGE ARTS SOCIETY SELECTS TIMEE FOREIGN. FILES
French, Spanish, and either a German or Italian film will be shown to students
dnd townspeople this winter, according to plans of the College Arts Society, meeting
last Wednesday.
The society now has 17 members, each with a specific duty. Among other duties,
each member is to be chairman of at least one meeting,
Joan Griesing is secretary of the society. Miss Dolores Dißubbo is the faculty
adviser.
SORORITY PLANS SOCIZ SEASON
Theta Sigma Pi, Highacres sorority whose membership is open to all women stu
dents, had formal initiation for 14 new members, November 6. Seven sophomores helped
to make the candlelight ceremony very impressive. The initiation was in charge of
Joan Griesing„ sorority president.
After the new members were formally invested, lass Dißubbo, dean of women and
sorority adviser ) explained the real meaning of "sorority.". Freshmen wore assigned
"Big Sisters" who will serve in helping their "little Sisters" in all matters. Plans
mere completed for a full social year.

THANKSGIVING BALL TO BE AT ALTAHONT
At the Student Council meeting last night, social chairman Joe Mehalick announ
ced that final plans are complete for our first semi-formal of the college year--
The Thanksgiving Ball.
The ball is to be held in the Altamont Hotel ballroom, and music will be furn
ished by the Modernairos, Dancing starts at nine o'clock.
Remember, this dance is sponsored by the Student Council and is paid for by
your S.G.A. Fund- This entitles each student to bring a guest to the dance.

15.TialY CLUB ACTIVE
The Fourth Dynasty of the Mummy Club met in October under the direction of Mr.
James Steel. At this meeting, Mr. Steel explained the ourpose of the club. The
following officers were elected: Pharaoh, Nick Pelick; Grand Vizier, John Carr 9
Keeper of the Granaries, Frank Smida; Scribe, Mabel Lewis; Keeper of the Portals,
Manny Neff and Dominic DeToma; High Priost of Osiris, Bob Tracy. The now members
were initiated.
Tho folloving committees were appointed: Social committee -- Snlly Rarich,
Harriet Tulin, Jim Carroll, and Ed Eisiminger; progric committee -- Janice Magavich,
Beverly itlazdo„ Joe Belavich, Pete Pavuk, and Joe Marinelli.
At the second meeting, Mr, Steel shoved slides of pyramids, carvings, rock—cut
tombs, and temples,,
Thc next meeting will be held November 20 at 8:00 o'clock in South Hall 101.
Anyone who would like to join is invited to attend the meeting.
