The recommendation of a n ,1-Laculty member as coach was necessi— tated by the fact that physical education is not being offered at Highacres this term THE COLLEGIAN will print full particulars on the now appointment in its next issue. As social chairman, one of the most important spots of responsibility on the Student Council, members elected Joseph G. Mehalict, third semester student from Beaver Meadows. Immediately "J:)eit and the social committee is going into the build— ing of a complete social calendar f)r the year. First big item on the list will be a Halloween Party. The date and the full particulars will be ready for publication next week says the committee. 160 STUDENTS AT HIGHACRES; KOREAN GI'S STARTING TO COME IN There arc 160 students enrolled at Highacres, it is revealed by the latest analysis by assistant administrative head Frank C. Kostos. Broken down into varilus significant categories, the figures show that there arc 139 men and 21 women enroll ed in 8 different schoJas which have a total of 29 different curricula. Following in size are Engineering 41; Chemistry and Physics 23; D.I.R. 10; Arriculture 9; Education 6; Hone Econonics2; Mineral Industries 2; Specials 2; and Physical Educat ion 1, There arc 95 first sonester students, 7 second semester students, 54 third semester, and one fourth semester student. Included in the total enrollment arc 22 veterans of service in the Armed Forces of the United States, uost of them under P.L. 550 0 the so—called Korean GI Bill of Rights. INTRii,WALL TOUCH FOOTBALL Nat UNDEWAY; TWO GaITRS A WEEK Intra-Hural Touch Football League teams went into action this week, playing a two-game-a-week schedulethrough November 1. Ganes are played on the Highacres athletic field. At the end of the fall season it is expected that the winning tea::: will be presented with a trophy. Captains of the fopr teams are Joe Belovich, Pete Kerutis, Bill Coll, and Bill Snrkas.
