Page Two STORY OF CHRISTMAS DEPICTED BY SCHOOL GROUPS THIS WEEK The Christmas story told in chronological order with Christmas carols, some Fred Waring arrange ments, was presented by center stu dents at the Hotel Altamont Monday night as their annual Christmas pro gram. With ,the aid of Miss Margaret Campbell the Dramatic club handled the narration and tableaus. Musical 'direction and arrangement was un der the direction of Miss Pearl Gar brick. Representatives from various civic organizations of the city comprised the audience in addition to faculty members, students and friends. Sev eral of the people who attended later remarked it was one of the nicest Christmas programs they had ever seen portrayed in such a manner. Tuesday night the troupe gave their second performance at the White Haven Sanitarium. On Christ mas Eve' the transcribed presentation will be aired over WAZL at 10:30 p.p. The cast and committees for the program were: Wise men—Leroy Gaverick, Burt Minkin, and Neil Llwellyn. Shep herds—Henry Ziegler and Nick Ca lello. Joan Eidelman was cast in the part of the Christmas angel. Readers were June Rienmiller, Chad McCracken and Sarah Gensel. Mary Janet Szutowicz. Joseph Wilson Barto. Ushers Bob Timlin, Leonard Williams, Joyce Schofield and Dolor es Kobri • ek. Make-up artists Jean Lovrinic and Beverly Silverman. Joyce Schofield was in charge of the stage props. Lighting facilities were directed by Henry Ziegler an•d Art Edstrom and Beverly Silverman was in charge of housing arrangement. The transcribed program was made Sunday afternoon in the Ty rolean room. Art work for the pa geant was done by the center's art department students who were super vised by Instructor Art Carpenter. Costumes were provided by St. John's church through the efforts of Student Councilman John Parven sky. Bottom: Finale. Chem Club Held Holiday Party The Chem club held its Christmas party at the Broad Street building Tuesday night.. Motion pictures on cellulose and magnesium were shown, after which the group ad journed and moved into a decorated laboratory for a buffet lunch. The food was prepared by Mary Ellen McHugh's mother and was served by Atary Ellen who was hostess for the evening. In addition to the members of the club, Miss. Mae Fauth, sponsor of the club, and James Steel attended. January 4 is scheduled for the next meeting in the Broad ' Street building at 7:30 p.m. Language Clubs In Choral Sing Under the direction of .Miss Emma Phillips and Miss Edra Staffieri the members 'of the French and Spanish clubs participated in the Internation al Christmas carols program held in the Salem Evangelical church Dec. 3. Sponsored by the Christian Ser vices Guild, the program was pre sented by nineteen regional music groups who rendered their various arrangements in native languages. The French Club, with Joella Mc- Carty as soloist, vocalized two selec tions that signify Christ's birth to the, people of France. The Spanish Club, represented by Mary Claypotdh, Marilyn George, and Rita Mikula, entertained the au dience with several selections that are popular in Spain during the Yuletide season. GUEST SINGERS The Penn State Community Chor us, directed by Miss Pearl Garbrick, were the guests of Freddie Houser on his weekly musical program last night over WAZL, aired from Genet ti's Tyrolean room.
