11/11/41 Hallowe'en Party Pirates, goblins, ghosts, and even maharajahs were seen at our annual Hallowe'en Party, Friday night, October 31. We were not at a loss for enter tainment by any means. For those who did not wish to dance, there were games such as bingo, darts, win a "seegar", and Mile. Bastuscheck telling us about our past, present, and future. Perhaps the best and most enjoyed of all the entertainment was the Chamber of Horrors We went into a dark room and suddenly felt our faces becoming cold. This was caused by cold fire. Then when we looked around, beholdt there in a cor ner a dead man, or what appeared to be a dead man, lay peacefully in his cof fin. He, of course, was only George Seidel. After being suddenly whirled around, we were thrust into a chair where we received a shock before going again into the outer world. Co-chairmen for the party were Cowell and Seidel. Assisting them on the various committees were: DeMarco, Kistler, Lewis, Mulhall, Sheridan, Stadnik, and Walker. EDT Courses (cont. p. 1) took part in the summer program were Al Durback, Jim Sauers, and Francis Marusak. Two boys, Dick Cronin and Elwood Scott, attended the course in Mauch Chunk which was under the Hazle ton jurisdiction. Another student, Leo Stadnik, served as stock clerk. The third course, in which the Cen ter is now engaged, is the Engineering, Science, Management Defense Training. Again the facility is taking a leading part. Mr. Herpel is Administrative Head, and Mr. Isenberg is Supervisor of Engineering Drafting. We Wonder If you should have an idea for a new department or a suggestion for im proving one of the present ones, pass it along to one of the staff. ollegian Hazleton Perhaps you have been wondering what the Student Council is doing with your money. Well, maybe you have noticed the new ping-pong table in the game room. This is the first investment we have made this year. We also bought two new ping-pong paddles, which, by the way have already been broken. Of course, if that's the way the students want to do thing 3} Student Council will let it go at that. It's your money that is being wasted. lou certainly enjoyed the Get-Acquaint ed Party and the Hallowe'en Party, didn't you? The expenses for these parties were taken care of by the Student Coun cil with the cooperation of the students who served on several committees. The new records are s Wellj aren , t they? I'm sure everyone agreed that the committee could not have chosen better ones. Anyone who cares to is invited to come to see the Council in action and to make suggestions which they think may be beneficial. A t the present an issue before the Student Council is the painting of the’game room. If anyone has an opinion on this subject, let him help the Council members by giving them his advice. Another important question before the Council is, Should the Women's Club have more money to buy furniture for their lounge? If the boys would rea lize that they have the game room, basket ball, ’and now boxing, I'm sure that they will agree that the girls should have at least a decent lounge. At present the.
