Saxophonists Brooks and Smialek Perform On Campus Kandace Brooks of the University of Florida presented a duo saxophone recital with Penn State music professor Smialek on Satur day, January 22, at the Penn State Hazleton Campus. Accompanying the two saxophonists was pianist Holly Hughes. Brooks was featured as a soloist, she played early works for soprano saxophone by nineteenth-century composer Jean-Basptiste Singlee. Smialek entertained the audience with work for tenor saxophone and piano by New Jersey composer Timothy Broege.
