Plectrum Rocks
Commons
By Andrea L. Santer
Feet tapping and hands clapping were
heard on Tuesday November 9, when P.S.H
band “Plectrum,” showed off their talent by
holding their first gig in the commons.
The group devised its name “Plec
trum” from flicking through the dictionary.
They chose “Plectrum” because it means a
small object used for plucking guitar strings,
and obviously it fits to what they do. The
members of the band are Chris George, lead
guitar and vocals, Mike Bvers, guitar/vocals,
John Steinmann on the drums, and Dave
Dephillips, bass. “Plectrum" practices to
gether whenever they can. Some of the band s
favorite songs are We re Big Grand Funks,
Robert Johnson, Free, and Bad Company.
The band also plays their own songs which
Mike Byers writes himself.
The band put on a very entertaining
performance. Mike Bvers did a great job of
keeping the audience involved. The band dis
played an enormous amount of talent, both
vocally and instrumentally. The support for
“Plectrum,” was reflected in the amount of
students who turned up to see them perform.
When asked what the future holds for
Plectrum and if they plan to stay together,
Mike Bver replied, “It : s up in the air.”
