Page 4 Riot Act In Hazleton Can you name four corn elians performing insane and embarrassing skits in the Commons? If you said Riot Act, your absolutely right. On Tuesday , September 12th, Hazleton undergrads were treated to a spect acle of mirth and mayhem. How, you might wonder, did this menagerie begin? Promptly at high noon, four comedians strutted out onto center stage. As they began their routines, Chuck Me Collum warned the audience that the group wasn't quite sane. To prove this point, Rob Reed ran on stage and lobbed a fake watermelon into the audience, almost "nailing" this reporter. As the pace started to pick up the laughs began flowing freely. Some skits included a remake of the Beach Boys' "Surf ing USA" into "Minature Golf", Jeopardy with fourth graders, and Win, Lose or Draw starring Vice President Dan Qualye. Not content to enter tain by themselves, Riot Act volunteered some of the audience to partici pate. During a Dating Game skit Riot Act asked each partner different questions resulting in hilarious laughs and embarrassed contestents. Riot Act also showed off incredible singing talents by remaking Beatle's hits as comm ercials for Listermint and Secret deoderant. Ending on a high note, Riot Act proved them selves great comedians and a certain croud pleaser. Next time there's a show in the Commons, go, it's fun and it's free. Bebop is Back Hazleton, PA- The Bert Seager Jazz Quintet will deliver a rousing, main stream, modern bebop performance in the Commons building at the Penn State Hazleton Campus on Tue., Oct. 3. The performance gets started at 7:30 p.m. The music of the Bert Seager Jazz Quintet is exciting and accessible. The two-horn front line format recalls the "blue note" quintets of the fifties and sixties. Howeveer, the soloists and the forms of the songs they play keep the music fresh and up-to-date. For a jazz sound from a few years back, with a fresh and originial approach to arrangements, the Seager Jazz Quintet is hard to match. umMMti i tfco MCMJt TWfeA««■ of am MaueJ imi AunwnV '*&•' Ooi 0O tHfe 3uea«T ( \ 7 - Atnrnv, ctx> Wtt>
