=II Chorus This year, the Highacres' choir per formed a Christmas con cert at the Laurel Mall and sang Christmas carols at a local nursing home. The year culminated with a presentation of Gilbert and Sullivan's H.M.S. Pinafore. The 25- member choir practices twice a week, once as a large group, and the other as individual groups. Dr. Jumpeter, New Horizons Outings club Although the Outings . Club has a small membership, its par ticipants are active, and enjoy what their club has to offer. The group has had nice turnouts for their camping and hiking excursions, their C.P.R. classes, as well as their recent raft relay. The group' consists of Robin Bergstresser, President; Cathy Ferry, Secretary; Dave Picar reli, Treasurer; Margaret Haraschak, Jill Balliet, and Kathy Moody. the advisor, tries to give the students a broad range of choral music to perform, the group singing everything- from pre-Baroque music to the popular musical numbers of modern times. Smanda Smsell serves as President of the club, followed by Debby Cassano, Vice- President; and Missy ' Miller, Secretary and Treasurer. Students for a Creative Society is most known through its literary magazine, Horizons. This past year, the organization put forth two issues of the magazine, held a paper, airplane contest, and created a New Horizons' , Calendar. The paper airplane contest, held during winter term, was a fund raiser for the organiza tion. Two of the lub's sophomores, Judd uskirk and Jim Bagley, a roved to be a hard orking team which eserves recognition. 1 ike Moyer and Tom • warr, both freshmen, ave also done an accep ' ional job as dedicated orkers. Other members include Debby Gorman, ennifer Finelli, Gary trausser, Nadia Puhak, ric Riedinger, Gregg Davis, Missy Miller, Pat Kramer, Mark Deebel, was required and was sold to the entrants. It was held in the Physical ; Education Building on the racquetball courts. The New Horizons' Calendar was a big suc cess. The elaborate calendars with pictures, and poems by club members were sold for three dollars each. Jerry Trently, John Lewis, Michael Brouse and John Good deserve special recognition for Compendium 3 Terri Eroh, Oti Gallagher and Denis Polivka. SGA was responsibh for the success of the 12th annual Awards Banque held at Gus Genetti' Best Western Moto Lodge on April 30th, a well as the semi-form. held earlier in the year. SGA also sponsored • leadership conferenc:. which provided Hazlet° freshmen • with th understanding of how t take on roles in campu organizations. HCAC, working in conjunctio with the March of Dimes' Walk America, helped t. raise money in the figh against birth defects on April 25th. Studen Government is also in charge of running all stu dent elections on cam pus. two years of service to the magazine, and Deb bie Scott was named the outstanding. freshman. Anne Cormier, presi dent, and Dr. Joseph Marchesani, advisor, merit attention for the enormous amount of time and devotion they have given to the activi ty. Other members in clude: Lori Harlan, Pam Eppinger, and Cheryl Hancharick. SUB The Student Union Board (SUB) was very active this year. With Lisa Vendura as presi dent during fall and winter, and Pat Kramer during spring, the organization ac complished a lengthy assortment of things. They organized a Needy Children's Christmas Party, and sponsored James Mapes, the hyp notist who appeared in the Commons. Also in the Commons was the very popular Rocky Horror Picture Show. SUB also sponsored the Carnation Sale for Valentine's Day. Along a more cultural vein, SUB was behind the appearances of Ray Owens and Alan Krantz, two guitarists with very different styles. SUB sponsored the Elephant Man and Spring Week. Outstanding members include Alan Smith, for his hard work, dedica tion and availability; Otis Gallagher and Tom Swarr for their will ingness to work; Pat Kramer, who stepped in and took over during SUB's busiest season and did a terrific job; and the club's advisor, Joe Mar chetti, for all his sugges tions and guidance.
