Compendium insid The Cerula to receive award By Jayne Ann Bugda Mr. Paul Cerula, Business Manager of the Hazleton Campus, has been named the 1982 recipient of the "Hazleton Penn Stater Awatd." The award will be ' presented to Mr. Cerula in recognition of his outstanding service to the University, ' The Hazleton Campus, and the community. The ighacres 11 . award is jointly spon sored by the Campus Penn State Club and the Hazleton Campus. A joint committee, half appointed by the Board of Directors of the Club and half appointed by the Director of the Hazleton Campus, Dr. William David selected this year's winner. Mr. Cerula was selected on the basis of his outstanding service to the community. He has played an active role as President of Can Do from 1979 to the present. Also, he serves as Direc tor of the Economic Development - Council and Secretary for the Hazleton Educational Council, a position he has held since 1968. In addi tion he is .an active member of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club. tt YY Please see Cenfie pg : 5 Paul Cerula Collegian purchases typesetter In an effort to cut costs and increase efficiency, the .Highacres Collegian has purchased a typeset ter from the Daily Col legian Corporation. The machine was pur chased at a cost of $l,OOO, five hundred of which was paid by Campus Director, Dr. William David, through the Director's Account. "Normally, a machine of'this nature would be put on our books as being worth about $4,000, but since we're selling it to a branch campus, and we know it will be put to good use, we've come down on the price," said Gerry Hamilton, General. "I had been looking into the acquisi tion of a typesetter for quite some time, so naturally when the op portunity came along I pursued it," said Emerich.
