and then there were t-shlrts This past Sunday, April 29th at approximately 6:45 a.m., thirty sleepy eyed Penn State students met in the lobby of the Residence Hall to start a long day’s work. The Walk-A-Thon was held Sunday after approximately two months of planning took place. The many Penn State students who donated there valuable time to man checkpoints and work as traffic controllers were, John Shedleski, Jeanne Beam, Joe Borschak, Jeff Carson, Donna Ditty. Three Penn State students also worked the day delivering supplies to different locations, the ffuitmen were Royce McMahon, Jim Goodin and Joe Zuk. Keler Taylor was in charge of com munications, and ■ coordinated messages between checkpoints and vehicles. Thru the whole affair our advisor, Ev Binns, Was there to help and advise us where ever possible. Alt workers of the Walk-A-Thon received long up hill walk By lesa Bagley a tee-shirt, the tee-shirts were donated by various businesses in the area and Mrs. Brenda Binns helped us to letter all the tee-shirts with the inscription “March of Dimes Superwalk Hazleton 79." Many other community organiza tions helped with the manpower of the Walk-A-Thon they were as follows: the Anthracite Repeater Association, The West Hazleton Police Department, the Hazleton Police Department, Hazleton - Ambulance Association. The day of the walk the weather was excellent and by the end of the walk.
