OTIS Underway
OTIS is coming to Highacres.
The need of OTIS (Organiza
tion of Town Indepenent Stu
dents), a group usually assoc
iated with University Park,
was finally recognized by stu
dents at Highacres. "There's
a great need for an organiza
tion of this type," says Diane
Zell, an OTIS representitive.
"There have been problems with
living conditions in town, and
up until now there hasn’t been
any place where students can
go to get help concerning
these matters."
Once OTIS is set up on cam
pus it will provide informa*
tion to students concerning
living conditions in State
College and Hazleton. Any town
students wishing to help should
contact Diane Zell by either
leaving a note in her SGA mail
box or calling 455-8108*

is currently working on the
rights of the students vs. the
rights of University authori
ties.
Mr. Everitt Binns and Mr,
Joseph McCallus, Assistant to
the Dean of Student Affairs and
Dean of Student Affairs, res*
spectively, attended the RHC
meeting on January 5» 1976.
Students rights to privacy was
the main topic. Both Binns and
McCallus agreed that if stu
dents continue to be "blatantly
obvious" about breaking rules,
the state police will be called
in. Students can't change
state and federal laws prohib
iting smoking marijuana or
drinking alcohol, but with time
and effort students may be able
to change some University
rules. There will be another
meeting to continue the discus
sion.
Other RHC actions induce
the showing of movies. Defin
