BLOODMOBILE VISITS HIGHACRES 101 DONATE The Bed Cross Bloodmobile which visits, the Highacrea Campus every year was present on campus January 27. The quota for the campus was 160 pints of bloody which repre sented approximately one fourth of the student popu lation. This quota was not met; however, 101 students and faculty members turned out to donate blood. Nine were deferred for medical reasons. 69 of the donors were giving for their first time, and one student, Fred erick George, received a three gallon pin. Mrs. Mar garet Tamea, resident nurse at Highacrea, and Everitt Binns, Assistant Bean of Stu dent Affairs, oversaw the pro gram. The facilities for the Bloodmobile were arranged by student members of the S.G.A. and the Student Union Board. OFFICIAL ALIBI LIST Students often find them selves falling behind in their assignments due to many different faotors: too much night life, not enough crack ing of their books, their love life, and many others. These students often fins the need for various alibis to present to their professor when they beg him for a grade higher than the one their tests say they should get* The Stu dent Union Board and Everitt Binns, Assistant Bean of Stu dent Affairs, have compiled a list of many possible alibis, for use at the end of this term by those who are fail ing or otherwise not living up to their own expectations . (or those of their parents). Following are the alibis which the COLLEGIAN staff found the most applicable. The Highacrea Cellegl COLLEGIAN RECRUITS NEW STAFF MEMBERS The Highacrea COLLEGIAN is looking for talented, sent sitive people who have some thing to say and know how to say it. It is looking for people who are interested in their fellow students. It is looking for people who are interested in their cam pus and the events and prob lems that it faces. It is looking for people who are willing to devote a small amount of their time to the improvement of this campus through media, people who want to. see things done and know how to tell other people about it. You don't have to be an English major, or even a Liberal Arts student to qualify. You merely have to bis interested and willing to work for an hour or two per week, with your mind, your hands, or your typewriter , or your camera. Photographers, editorialists, writers, typ ists, proofreaders, anyone with anything to say, art ists, we need you and you need us. The COLLEGIAN is not only asking for your help, but is willing to offer its own, in the form of valuable experience which might be priceless to you in future years. Bon't be frightened of it. Come out and try it. You may learn that the media is the best way to accomplish anything you want done. Use them in good health. (And good luck in your finals.) There must have been a mistake somewhere. It is not a higher mark I seek? I don't care anything about marks: I think marks are wicked, and I disapprove of them. Several people around me copied from my paper during the exaainiation, yet they all received higher grades than I did. Surely this is not fair. The questions were am biguous; hence, my answers should be graded according to the reasonable interpre tations I made of your ques tions. I do not wish to say any* thing against any of the other members of ay class, but the reason I did not do better is that I am very honest. The traffic on Route 81 distracted me.
