.allt Eigigtars Tottrgi PUBLISHES BY STUDENTS OF THE HAZLETON CAMPUS OF THE PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY WALK-A THON Ken Heydt, Walk-a-thon Chairman, has announced that the March of Dimes Walk was successful, earning almost $21,000. The Walk, original ly scheduled for March 31, was held April 7, because of Hazle ton's unusual final snow. The 1300 walkers began at Harmon Geist Stadium, and walke. around the whole Hazleton area, encompassing 22 miles. At stra tegic points there were rest stops, where the walkers were served orange drink and cookies,' and at lunch, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The State Police, the West Hazleton Po lice, the Ambulance and Res cue Trucks, and "Men in the Crowd" directed traffic and took care of any injuries the walkers incurred. Ken Heydt would like to extend special thanks to Mr. Dunlop and Mr. Crone, Food and Housing employees, Everitt F. Binns, and Dr. Covert for their help in making the Walk-a-thon a success. He would also like to thank Joe A., Pete F., Joe Z., Merc and Crazy Joe for thei support and help. FRATERNITY INDUCTIONS The Psi Pi chapter is Al pha Phi Omega is happy to an' , anounce the induction of three new members. David Trumbauer and Barry Jais were installed as regular members and Dr. David, Campus Director, was in stalled as an honorary member. David Trumbauer was also in stalled as secretary. The in stallation took place Tuesday, April 9, after the regular business meeting. The Prater nit,. would like to thank all those people who helped make the hoagie sale a success, especially those who bought more than one. Also many thanks to Mr. Dunlop for al lowing us to use the resi- dance hall. SORORITY ACTIVITIES The Theta Sigma Pi Sor ority has many activities planned for the upcoming weeks. Their first big project is col lecting for the Cancer Society this month. Anyone who is in terested in helping the Sor ority can contact Nancy Meiser. On April 20 the Sorority is holding a bake sale at the Bos ton Store, and will later in the month co-sponsor a car wash with the Fraternity. On May 9 the Sorority will spon sor a dance after the Awards Banquet at Stan Genetti's in the Pennsylvania Room. There will also be a Mother - Daughter Tea on May 12 which is open to any girl on campus and her mother.
