Tom Caccese is a graduate of Penn State University. Dur ing his time here, he was the Vice-President of the SGA. It was then that the SGA bought the chime system that still tolls the time here at Highacres. He served as President of the Belles-Lettres Society and the President of the Veteran Frat ernity, which was organized -tin der his auspices. Mr. Caccese also served on the Highacres COLLWIAN and filled the position of Sports Editor. In 1970, he won the Best Sports Article award from-the Collegiate Press Association. Mr. Caccese was the first student to win the Eric A. Walker Award at the Hazleton campus. He also won the Sopho more of the Year Award, and the Academic Achievement Leadership Award in 1969. At present, he is teaching Health at Bishop Hafey High School Dale Walck, president of the Belles-Lettres Society, has announced that the Six teenth Annual Highacres - Dramatic Reading Festival will be held Apia' 5 at 7:15 in the Library. He also informed the COLLEGIAN that if the opportunity arises, he would like to become a full time faculty member here at lighacres. The Parnassus Chapter of the Yeystone Society will open its membership during the Sprin Term. To be elirtble a student must have a cumu lative average of 2.5 and be active in two extr?,currtcular activities. Parnassus sponsors the STUDENT OF THE YEAR AIJARD and ushers at Associate Degree graduation. Members of the brannh campus automatically become members of the parent chapter at Tr-Park upon trans fer. Affairs at University Park, has estab lished the Department of Secon dary School Relations. Dr. Glenn Carter is head of this new department at University Park. Each Dean of Affairs at each Commonwealth Campus 'has this additional res ponsibility. Dean Joseph McCallus has seen placed in charge of sec ondary school relations at Highacres. This new assign ment will include-working with University Park officials in their admissions office. Dean McCallus will also work with guidance personnel and counselors in the area school systems.
