LAS VEGAS NIGHT HELD
On Friday, November 2, the
Student Union Building was
transformed into the rollicking
Club Highacres as students
celebrated our annual Las Vegas
Night.
The various r:ambling
booths were set-up by the Stu
dent Government. Hark Denke,
coordinator of the event, an
nounced that approximately 150
students enjoyed the activities
and provided the Student Union
Board with approximately $llO..
As Denke explained, the
student paid one dollar at the
door and received 82500 in
play money and a raffle ticket.
He could engage in gambling
activities such as craptables,
blackjack, the Lucky Wheel and
a horse race.
At the end of the evening,
raffle tickets could be pur
chased at $5OOO apiece, and re
deemed for two tickets to the
Steve Miller Concert, or several
souvenirs from Las - Vegas. The
Cowgirls were given assorted
records.
Officiating the proceedings
were over a dozen lovely cowgirls
barkers, and callers. Keeping
a close eye on the festivities
were the owners and operators
of the Club Highacres--Dean
"Double or nothing" McCallum
and Everitt "Match-his-bet"
Binns.
Binns expressed ap
preciations to Mark Denke, Jack
Yatsko, RHO, SGA, the Sorority,
and everyone who assisted.

SGA Budget
The Student Government
has voted on the new budget
for this academic year. The
budget was compiled by Pres
ident Warren Faust and Trea
surer Joyce Grego in conjunc
tion with Dean ?Manus. The
following tare the allotments

under S.G.A. jurisdiction:

lOrganizations such as the
Sorority, the Fraternity, and
Parnassus cannot receive allot
went because of their limiting
membership qualifications.
Other organizations did not
receive funds because they
have not been active in the
past few years or did not sub
mit a budget to the SGA. The
SGA funds come out of undistri
buted funds.
Other SGA projects include
the establishment of several
committees. John Busher, Mike
Petresky, and Jack Yatsko will
be campus representatives for
ACCOUNTANT
SPEAKS
On Thursday, November 1,1973,
the Business and Economics Club
of the Pennsylvania State Univ
ersity, Hazleton Campus present
ed Mr. Arthur Robinson,
a chartered accountant from
England. Mr. Robinson spoke
on the financial management of
an English subsidiary (Merck,
Sharp, and Dohme, Ltd.,
Hoddesdon, England) in relation
ship to the subsidiary's respon
sibility to the U.S. parent firm,
Merck and Company, Inc., Rahway,
New Jersey. The meeting was
attended by arnroximately 100
students.

pendent Students. OTIS helps
students living off campus with
their problems. The Faculty
General Assembly has asked for
four voting members from the
SGA. They will be Mark Denke,
Warren Faust, Joyce Grego, and
Joe Morris.
