BIKE-A-THON
HELD
The second annual bike-a
thon for cancer was held Satur
day, October 13. The route
began at the Highacres Campus
and ended at Lake View Log
Cabin, a total distance of 21
miles. Riders representing
the Highacres Campus were Mr.
Everitt Binns, Assistant Dean,
Dr. Jerry Covert, Beth Dormer,
Dennis Catino, and Bob Tomaino.
Ken Heydt served as Bike-a-thon
chairman. Mr. Binns received
the most pledges for the Ameri
can Cancer Society.

Contributions are now
being taken for the United
Fund. The following services
are performed by the United
'und: family and children's
services, health and rehab
ilitation services, and recrea
tion and creative leisure ser
vices.
Dr. Aurand has been col
lecting for the past five
years at Highacres. Contribu
tions are made by faculty,
staff, or students. For the
past two years, Highacres was
presented with Certificates
of Merit.

Library
In addition to numerous
books, the Highacres library
offers many facilities to the
students. Available for stu
dent use are a copy machine, a
film loop projector and several
cassette players. A new sign
making machine has also been
added. The library will supply
the ink and the type, but the
user must bring his own paper or
cardboard. An engineering
calculator is another new
addition.
Located downstairs are
art exhibits, placed there period
ically by Student Affairs. Ex , '
hibit cases are available
for anyone wanting to display
rare objects or collections.
