As a citizen of the United States
of America, you should make it your duty
to know how your federal government oper
ates and who the important officials are.
Likewise, a Penn State student should he
concerned with the operation of his Sbu-
dent Government Association. A Penn State
student should be acquainted with the pur
poses of S. G. A. He should also know who
the S. G. A. members are.
The Student Government Association
is an organization for the expression of
student opinions and attitudes at the Haz
leton Campus. The S. G. A. regulates the
non-academic behavior of students, and it
created, maintains, and regulates, promotes
and coordinates all group functions and
activities of the student body o
All fulltime, undergraduate stu
dents are regular members of S. G» A..A1l
part-time undergraduate students are
ciatemembers. All regular and associate
members may vote for tho elective officers’,
may vote on proposals to an-cd’the consti
tut ion., add speak at all meetings of S.G.A«
They may, also, sign any petition associa
ated with S.G.A. functions.
Any regular mamber who has met the
qualifications set forth in the constitu
tion and by-laws is eligible for election
or appointment to office in the S. G« A.

gian, qe shall try to acquaint you with
the officers and members of S. &. A. by
means of a column entitled, ,! Knoa Your
S. G. A. n The column will include the V
latest S. G„ A. n ews and interveiws with
S. G. A. members.
