Winter Term Elections Held
New Fee Rules Begun
With Snowball Dance
The second dance of the term
was held Friday, January 25 in
the Student Union Building from
9 to 12. Paul Gallagher was in
charge of the affair which proved
quite enjoyable and entertaining.
Snowy decorations centered
around the theme and music was
provided. Refreshments were
served by Essie Nemeth.
This was the first dance of the
year that the new rule concerning
attendance at activities was put in
effect. It is felt that too many
outsiders, particularly high school
students, have been attending
Penn State activities. Only Penn
Staters, their guests, and nurses
are Permitted to attend. The ad
mission fee of $.25 made possible
the nurchasing of an instrumental
group.
Information For
Handicapped Veterans
The enactment of PL 87-815,
October 15, 1962, makes voca
tional rehabilitation training
available for the first time to vet
erans who incurred a peacetime
disability as a result of service in
the armed forces during the peri
ods July 26, 1947 to June 26, 1950,
and February 1, 1955 to the pres

Applicants will be provided vo
cational counseling to ascertain
what training they may need to
overcome any handicapping effects
of their disabilities, and to assist
them in making a choice of a
future occupation. The Veterans
Administration will pay for boks

ance during the period of training
which may be needed for this pur

He was born in Evanston, re

training in Chicago, after which
his family moved to Joliet, a large
city in the Northeastern section of
the state.

Glentels Play
At First Dance
The Social Activities Committee
was very pleased by the large
turnout at the first dance of the
Winter Term. It was held on Fri
day evening, January 18, and the
music for dancing was provided by
the Glentels. A small admission
charge made it possible for the
committee to obtain this popular
local group.
Dancing from 9 to 12 and re
freshments served by the commit
tee contributed to the success of
the evening.
