CIRCLE K NEWS
BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS CLUB FORMED
Recently, the Business and Economics
Club held its first meeting. The first
order of business was the election of club
officers. Donald F. Love, a graduate of
Danville School, Class in Bloomsburg,
is in the Drafting and Designing Technology
curriculum. Elected Vice-president was
George Wanko, a graduate of the Class of
1955 of the Hazleton High School,
is in the Business Administration curriculum
and resides in Drums. The Secretary-Treasur
er of the club is William Remaley, a DDT
student. Bill is a graduate of the class of
1959 of White Haven High School, and resides
in the town of White Haven.
After the officers were elected, Mr.
John Longo, advisor for the club, spoke
before the thirty-five members present on
the objectives of the club. He outlined
a few of the plans for the future. One is
the trip to New York in the early part of
May to tour the United Nations building
and the New York Stock Exchange. Also,
he hopes to have discussions on different
phases of business. However, this will
not take place this semester. Since the
Business and Economics Club is to be a perO
manent organization at Highacres, these
discussions will probably be held the next
college term. Guest speakers and movies
are to be a part of this active club.
Finally, a new activity has been added
to Highacres. For those who had the init
iative to commence this club, congratulation
s are in order. Since extra-curricular
activities are a part of a college, and
active ones are needed at the Hazleton
Campus, this department wishes the Business
and Economics Club success in the future.
