The College Community Chorus, composed of Penn State Center students, alumnae, faculty members, end interested adults and high-school students from the community, are to be commended for their work of the past year. Two difficult and challenging oratdr-'os, Handel's Messlah and Mendelssohn' I, s Elijah, have been performed in a manner that will do credit to both High acres and the Hazleton area. This chorus Is the only choral group in this area that has been capable of surmounting the technical difficulties of both works. Thanks is due to Miss Pearl G. Garbrick, Assistant Professor of Music, for her discriminating taste, musicianship, and able direction of the Chorus, and to Lyla Perish, who accompanied the Chorus In both pre sentations. 57a also want to take advantage of this opportunity to thank the people who helped make the Chorus a success: the builder of the risers, the ushers, the people who contributed the gowns, and the many, many other people; without whose help the Chorus would not have succeeded.
