HIGHACRES COLLEGIAN, November 15, 1957 Legal Blood Bath ip the United States Next, I was led over to another chair where I was left to myself to wonder how everyone could remain so calm while I was bleeding to death. ■While I was sitting here, minding my own business, a huge nurse leaped from the curtains behind me, accosted me from behind, smiled, asked me whether this was my first time, and had me lying flat on my back before I could '’oil for help. Then in a grandiose bizarre attempt to fake me out and gain my confidence, I was treated in vary regal manner - for the next few minutes. They washed my arm, very gently. They wiped the perspiration off hay brow. Everyone smiled, and they all seemed to be concerned about how I felt. Then I noticed a tube protruding from my arm. Before I could screech, the nurse explained to me that she had already injected the needle and also that it hadn't hurt, I was brainwashed. I belie ved her. Although I realize now I must have been wrong, at the time, I actually believed that it hadn't hurt, Ones *again I had fallen victim to a pretty face and charming smile. In a few minutes, it was almost over. '- ,r hen my upper arm began to shrivel, they ?emdved the needle Finally, another nurse came over, smiled, and said, "Fell, it's all over now." Evidently, she hadn't tasted the coffee I was about to be fed. In a near by corner of the room which was closed off from the rest of the room by curtains, I was fed coffee and doughn uts. The doughnuts were good. The coffee tasted as if it had been manufactured to get me, before I could tell anyone 'what it was like, to give blood. I doubt that this ordeal will initiate any life-long effect upon me; in fact, I have already recovered sufficiently to write this article. To be truthful, I would recommend to the teachers at the school, that they should give blood. continued Volume I, Number 4 MOVIES OF TRANSCONTINENTAL CANAD!
