October 25, 1956 ATTENTION SPRING TRZSFER STUDENTS An announcement has been received from the main campus, concerning students who intend to transfer to University Park for the spring; semester 1956-57. Yrs. J.S. Bowman, Assistant to the Dean of Admissions, has requested students not to write individual letters to the campus. Faculty members will direct students with academic difficult— ies stemming from poor study habits to Mr. McKinstry. Students will be required to purchase a text book priced at U.. 00 Contents of the course will include methods of studying, taking exame, preparing reports, concentration, class— room skills (note—taking, etc.), and work in reading, writing and math. The course may meet any evening which the. group decides, Also, the program may he held on the Highacres Campus or the Hazleton Public Library, depending on the convenience of the group. The initial meeting, however, will be held at High— acres. The fee for the three—credit program is $45 , Of this amount $22.50 is due the first night of classes on October 29. The remainder is due on the sixth class meeting Checks may be made payable to The Pennsylvania State University. Texts in inexpensive paper—bound editions will be sold throughout the course im class. Students need not purchase books prior to the beginning of the program. The instructor of the program will be Professor Andrew Kafka, a full-•time mem— ber of the Penn State Center In Hazleton. The bowling league will be organized November 4 at 1:30 P.P. at the Playhouse Alleys in Hazleton. Teams will be selected in order to give each team an equal amount of balance for league competition. Teams will be composed of both boys and Firls and it is not necessary for those wishing to par= ticipate to know how to bowl. fach student will pay 45 cents toward the cost of the 3 Eames and the Student Council will pay 70 Cents.
