GOOD LUCKiJ I
Many sophomores Mil remember Mr.
Willard Grubbs, and have noticed
that he is mi ssi.ng from our campus
this year.; Mr. Grubbs was trans
ferred to the Allentown center,
July 5, 1955> to the position of
assistant administrative head and
an instructor in English composition
and English literature, a short
four years after his arrival here
from Dußois center®
This reporter never had the privilege
of meeting Mr. Grubbs but has heard
quite a bit about him® 4s many
know he was the advisor for this
paper, along with many ether
interests, such as leading the
"Great Literature Group," an
adult function that read and
discussed many great novels. He
was also the public information editor
for the school, secretary of the
faculty, head of the English
Department, and is a member of the
executive committee of the Penn
sylvania Junior College Association.
Mr. and Mrs. Grubbs and their
children, Barbara, a sophomore at
Highacres this year, David and
Roger, lived in Conyngham, where
they all took part in community
activities-.
Mr. Grubbs is missed not only by his
student friends but also by members
of the faculty. He is best remem
bered, by many, for his willingness
to help whenever asked. The word
"No 11 just didn't seem to be part
of his vocabulary*
So, we of the COLLEGIAN staff
would like to wish Mr. Willard
Grubbs, the best of everything in

NEW GRADING SYSTEM
This semester will see a new
grading system ushered in at
Highacres, Basically, it is
similar to its predecessor, the
main difference lying in the fact
that the old system was based on
numbers, whereas the new system
uses letters to denote grades.
The old system was as follows:
90 - 100 3
80 - 89 2
70-79 1
60-69 0
45 - 59 -1
